Specifically, the PMI VectorLink Project will build the capacity of country governments to use epidemiological, entomological, and coverage data to support the optimal deployment of vector control tools within each country context while promoting gender equity in all facets of planning and implementation.
Responsibilities
The PMI VectorLink Project is seeking a local country national to provide guidance and logistical coordination in support of a rapid project start-up and re-establishment of Population Services International (PSI) in Ghana.
The Accra-based startup consultant will manage and support the following aspects of re-establishing PSI’s presence in Ghana: * Fulfill project registration and compliance with local regulations pertaining to the establishment of NGO presence in Ghana
- Support the re-establishment of PSI’s relationship with selected bank in Ghana by submitting required documents and serving as a liaison between PSI and selected bank
- Manage logistics associated with establishing an office, e.g. liaising with in-country VectorLink team regarding procurement of furniture
- Facilitate communications between PSI and local partners, e.g. payroll and HR firm, local legal counsel, etc.
- Provide operations support to visiting PSI staff, e.g. hotel reservations, meeting scheduling and facilitation, etc.
Specific tasks may vary depending on the needs and may include the following:
- In coordination with the PSI headquarters team and Accra-based partners, compile and submit documents for PSI registration, NGO certificate, and project registration as required
- Liaise with PSI’s selected bank to facilitate the re-opening of PSI’s bank account in-country, i.e. by submitting required information and documentation
- In coordination with legal counsel, gather and share information about applicable local labor and tax regulations
- Manage logistics associated with setting up the local office space, e.g. by coordinating with in-country project team to ensure adequate provision of furniture and workspaces for PSI staff
- Report on progress of deliverables and tasks delegated to other local partners, e.g. HR and payroll firm, legal counsel, etc.
- Provide logistics support to visiting PSI staff, e.g. by reserving lodging, scheduling and facilitating meetings, etc.
- Other tasks as assigned
Deliverables
- Weekly progress report
- Ad hoc email updates as requested
- Notes and action points from meetings and calls
What are we looking for?
- Demonstrable experience managing the in-country operational and programmatic start-up for USAID-funded programming
- Fluency in written and oral English
- Excellent diplomatic, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Deep knowledge and understanding of Ghana context and requirements and laws for international NGOs operating in Ghana

Timing and estimated level of effort (LOE)This assignment shall begin as soon as the successful consultant is selected. PSI anticipates a need for ongoing startup consultant services through the remainder of calendar year 2019.
