JOB PURPOSE
Our client is looking for an efficient, courteous retail sales attendant who possesses excellent customer service and accounting skills. The Retail Sales Attendant will accept client payments, issue receipts, answer inquiries, and provide helpful information on products and item location.
To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience in a customer service position and excellent accounting skills
Ultimately, you will ensure all transactions run smoothly and will help us maximize customer satisfaction.
DUTIES
- Receives and records payments over the counter by accepting cash and card payments and issue receipts
- Scan the barcode of products and ensure accurate pricing
- Cross-sell products and introduce new ones to clients
- Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information
- Maintain a pleasant disposition and welcome clients courteously
- Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas
- Track transactions on balance sheets and report any discrepancies
- Handle merchandise returns and exchanges
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
- HND or Diploma in Marketing, Purchasing and Supply or related field
- SHS Graduate with minimum of one year experience in similar role
CORE COMPETENCIES
- Proven work experience as a Retail Assistant, Shop Attendant., Cashier, Sales Executive or similar role
- Strong Accounting skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients in person and on phone
- Excellent communication skills, capable of building trusting relationships
- Ability to perform in fast-paced environments
- Attentive to detail
