We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Poultry Farm Manager to oversee the daily
operations of our poultry farm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in poultry
farming, excellent management skills, and a passion for ensuring the health and productivity of
our poultry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Flock Management:
● Monitor the health and well-being of the poultry flock, including chickens, or other poultry
species.
● Implement proper feeding, watering, and environmental conditions to optimise bird
growth and egg production.
● Be familiar with the process of vaccinating and debeaking birds.
● Ensure biosecurity measures are in place to prevent disease outbreaks.
2. Staff Supervision:
● Hire, train, and manage farm personnel, including farmhands and support staff.
● Schedule and oversee daily tasks, assigning responsibilities as needed.
3. Facility Maintenance:
● Oversee the maintenance of poultry housing, equipment, and infrastructure.
● Ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are met to guarantee a healthy living
environment for the birds.
4. Record-Keeping:
● Maintain accurate records of bird health, production, and inventory.
● Prepare reports for upper management regarding farm performance.
5. Budget Management:
● Develop and manage the farm budget, controlling expenses and optimising resource
allocation.
● Monitor financial performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
6. Compliance and Regulations:
● Stay updated on local, state, and federal regulations related to poultry farming.
● Ensure the farm operates in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, or a related field (preferred).
● At least 8 years experience in poultry farming or farm management.
● Strong knowledge of poultry husbandry practices, including broiler and layer production.
● Excellent leadership and communication skills.
● Proficiency in record-keeping and farm
● management software.
● Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
● Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
● Physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
