Your Impact:
- Assist in developing and maintaining engineering project control systems and processes, ensuring accurate tracking, reporting, and management of project performance to support project success and decision-making.
In This Role You Will:
- Assess project costs and expenditures, ensuring they align with approved budgets and identifying any variances.
- Assist the preparation and assessment of cost reports, forecasts, and financial summaries for project teams and partners.
- Execute regular cost variance assessments to identify discrepancies between planned and actual project costs, suggesting corrective actions as needed.
- Liaise with project leaders and teams to collect accurate and timely cost and schedule data for reporting purposes.
- Support in the preparation and execution of project control procedures and methodologies to enhance cost and schedule handling.
- Apply project management software and tools to assist project tracking and reporting activities.
- Execute risk assessments to identify potential cost and schedule overruns and implement mitigation strategies.
- Deliver technical support and troubleshooting for project control systems and tools.
- Responsible for assessing relevant risks, applying mitigation measures, and continuously evaluating for risks.
- Support in preparing and maintaining engineer project schedules, ensuring all tasks, milestones, and deliverables are accurately tracked and updated.
Your Training, Skills and Experience Checklist:
Formal Qualification (including Professional Registrations):
- B.Sc. degree in Engineering or Accounting or Project Management or equivalent experience.
- Project management training.
Additional Knowledge:
- A good knowledge of accounting principles.
- An understanding of construction techniques, methods, productivity, and costs.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in project management or equivalent.
- A combination of training and experience is necessary.
Problem Solving Ability:
- Completes concrete procedural tasks.
- Follows procedural steps to complete work.
- Uses practical judgment to overcome problems, or requests assistance.
- Sees alternatives based on trial and error.
- Improves working methods using day-to-day experiences, procedures, observations of pattern of events, and trial and error.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in engineering and construction management principles.
- Sound analytical and problem solving skills.
- Sound computer literacy skills (SAP, MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook and other windows applications).
- Knowledge and use of Xeras Cloud for mining cost modelling can be an advantage.
Social Process Skills:
- Self-awareness: Understands own behaviors and is aware of the impact on others, adapt their own behavior where necessary in order to get a productive outcome for the wider team.
