Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensures the highest clinical standards are met in the provision of obstetrics and gynaecological services
Facilitates the development and update of clinical protocols and guidelines for the effective management of patients in the specialty
Contributes to quality improvement initiatives and strategies to enhance patient care and safety
Teaches, trains and mentors younger medical and nursing personnel and ensures a progressive academic environment
Performs operational research to contribute to evidence based practice in the department
Provides leadership and administrative oversight of the O&G department

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

The suitable candidate must possess the following:

Minimum of Bachelor’s degree and specialized training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology
Must be in good standing with the Medical and Dental Council
Must be a Fellow of the Ghana/West African College of Surgeons or its equivalent in obstetrics and gynaecology subspecialty with external collaborations with colleagues in the related field outside Ghana is an added advantage
Additional qualification in health administration or clinical leadership is an advantage
Must possess considerable strategic, interpersonal and analytical skills with a deep understanding and appreciation of the operational challenges in the health sector
Must be less than 55 years by June, 2020
