The Position
Successful candidates shall be faculty members in the Department of Physician Assistantship Studies (Medical & Oral) of the school of health and allied sciences and shall be responsible to the Head of Department. The candidates shall be required to teach the following courses:
• Anatomy
• Physiology
• Biochemistry
• Pathology
• Microbiology
• Hematology
• Pharmacology
• Chemical Pathology
• Public Health
• Child Health
• General Surgery
• Internal Medicine
• Obstetrics & Gynecology
• Psychiatry
• Anesthesia
• General Dentistry
• Restorative Dentistry
The candidates shall supervise research projects/theses of students, provide professional mentorship to students, conduct and publish scholarly research, attend conferences, and attract grants.
Qualification Required & Experience
• Must possess PhD or Masters degree with specialization in the specified subject areas
• Must possess the relevant teaching, research and industry experience
• Must be registered by an appropriate professional body
• For clinical courses (courses with asterisk)
• Membership or Fellowship with the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons shall be a requirement
Terms of Appointment
• The appointment may be Full-Time or Part-Time/Adjunct
• Full-time appointments shall be for 4 years in the first instance and may be renewed on a periodic basis, subject to satisfactory performance
• Part-Time/Adjunct appointments shall be for 2 years and may be renewed to the position are attractive
