Our client, a catering company that provides food services at remote sites for reputable organizations, is looking to hire Kitchen assistants.
He/She will be reporting to the cook to assist the cook with food preparation, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring efficient service.
The ideal candidate should be ready to follow food and health, and safety procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Food Preparation:
Assist in washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring ingredients for various dishes.
- Kitchen Maintenance:
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including equipment, surfaces, and storage areas.
- Food Safety:
Follow all food safety and hygiene standards to ensure a safe cooking environment.
- Assisting with Service:
Support the cook during service by fetching items, replenishing ingredients, and any other kitchen service as needed.
- Inventory Management:
Help track inventory, stock supplies, and minimize waste.
- Dishwashing and Cleaning:
Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment, as well as clean the kitchen and dining areas.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety.
- Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines, especially during busy service periods.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Ability to communicate effectively with other kitchen staff and follow instructions.
- Understanding of food hygiene standards and health & safety regulations.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others in a fast-paced environment.
