Professional Nurse at Cape Peninsula University of Technology

Job Purpose

Provide holistic health screening services to students on campus and campus residences.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• B Degree in nursing (General nursing, Community nursing and Midwifery). Post graduate degree would be an advantage
• Primary Healthcare & NIMART Trained
• At least 3 years’ experience in HIV testing, prevention & ARV treatment environment
• Experience in a higher education institution environment would be an advantage

Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities

• Health screening campaigns (HIV, STIs, TB, Covid-19, blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol screening) at campuses and campus residences.
• Administrative management of health screening and Mobile Wellness services across all campuses and campus residences.
• Reporting of health screening stats & condom distribution.
• Link students to health care services on and off campuses and follow up referred cases.
• Care and support of HIV positive cases.

Competencies

• HIV knowledge, experience in treatment and referral of patients
• Ability to conduct HIV, STI, TB, Covid-19, blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol and link-to-care services
• Proven experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Must be willing to work flexi-hours up until 20h00 in the evenings during health screening visits at campus residences when required
