Clinical training of undergraduate MBChB students

Training of first-year medical (MBChB) students from February 2022 at training sites;
-
Responsible for five to six students daily from Monday to Friday. A different group of students visits the CDC/CHC on each particular day;

Overseeing and managing the practical experience and learning of students at CHC/CDC;
-
Overseeing and managing the community experience of students;
-
Keeping record of attendance, arrivals, departures, etc. of students;
-
Liaising / interacting with the training site facility manager daily;
-
Providing feedback to students on their learning;
-
Involved in assessments of students at the end of each of the six-month rotations;
-
Reporting to Site Facilitator Coordinator;

Training on the specific expected outcomes will be provided prior to commencement of duty.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
-
Experienced Clinical Nurse Practitioners (CNPs), who may or may not be retired;
-
Experienced nurses;
-
Must be registered with South African Nursing Council (SANC);
-
Experience in PHC context for a minimum of three years;
-
Teaching experience in Primary Health Care or teaching experience at any college, Technikon or, ideally, a university;
-
Proficiency in at least two of the following languages: Afrikaans, English and / or isiXhosa.
