The main purpose of this position is to manage and coordinate resources in support of current operations and delivery of new information technology (IT) solutions for a designated area .
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:
ยท Take responsibility for operational planning by developing short-term work plans, in line with the Business Systems and Technology Department (BSTD) strategy and business plans, and communicate section activities.
ยท Manage and improve workflow and the application of processes, procedures and systems.
ยท Make suggestions for refining policies, processes and systems, and improve alignment with related divisional processes and systems.
ยท Manage and facilitate the delivery of section-specific outputs, including timeous delivery of projects and readiness of solutions to transition into operations.
ยท Optimise section resource use, allocate work and manage the accountability of resources, and provide input into cost management.
ยท Manage stakeholder relationships to ensure timely delivery of quality IT solutions, according to business requirement specifications.
ยท Identify gaps and inefficiencies (including governance, management of risks and audit findings) within the section and take specific actions for the implementation of improvements.
ยท Manage, monitor, evaluate and report on the quality, turnaround and impact of section deliverables.
ยท Encourage a performance culture in the section, define performance expectations and conduct effective performance management of direct reports .
ยท Drive priority development for employees by promoting and supporting career management and development of direct reports.
ยท Drive innovation and bring on necessary changes to improve application processes and systems to align with global best practices.
ยท Review and provide input into the budget of the section .
ยท Manage third-party service providers to ensure timeous delivery of projects and readiness of solutions to transition into operations.
To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:
ยท an Honourโs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or an equivalent qualification; and
ยท 8โ10 yearsโ experience in IT, with 2โ3 yearsโ management experience.
Additional requirements include:
ยท leading digital transformation knowledge and skill;
ยท web and mobile content management technologies knowledge and skill;
ยท experience in creating a consistent on-channel strategy for a customer/stakeholder;
ยท experience in implementing or managing digital experience platform teams (Adobe, Sitecore, IBM or liferay );
ยท quality assurance knowledge and skill;
ยท continuous improvement knowledge and skill;
ยท industry, organisational and business awareness;
ยท continued learning and/or professional development knowledge and skill;
ยท system development life cycle (SDLC) knowledge and skill;
ยท technical background in an appropriate area (e.g. IT development, infrastructure and integration);
ยท project management knowledge and skill; and
ยท general management knowledge and skill.
