Introduction
The main purpose of this position is to teach at undergraduate and post graduate level of study, conduct research, supervise research and lead in the field of speciality and engage in community activities.
Duties & Responsibilities
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Master’s Degree in Public Administration/Social Sciences.
- At least 2-years’ experience of teaching at a Tertiary Institution.
- Sound theoretical knowledge of the field.
- Satisfactory teaching performance, commensurate with the nature of the post to which the applicant was previously appointed.
- Ongoing research activity and dissemination of research findings, including a reasonable record of publications in accredited and/or internationally-recognised research journals, commensurate with the applicant’s discipline and the nature of the post to which the applicant was previously appointed;
- Ability or potential to supervise research at Honours level and to develop research capacity;
- Service to the University either at departmental or institutional level;
- Community engagement activity;
- MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook;
- Good English speaking, reading and writing capability.
- Ability and willingness to participate in community engagement projects.
- Sound interpersonal skills.
- A qualification in, or proof of studying towards, the assessment of learning at NQF Level 7/8, or an equivalent teaching qualification; alternatively, a qualification in postgraduate supervision at NQF Level 7/8, or an equivalent postgraduate supervision qualification.
