Introduction
To oversee and ensure on-time dispatch of all Botswana, Swaziland & Maputo food shipments, loading at Midrand DC. Ensuring accuracy of information and acting as the link between ISC Exports and Midrand DC.
Job description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Delivery against Exports scorecard.
- Adherence to Service Levels Agreements with customers and Midrand DC.
- Oversee all loading of food shipments to Botswana, Swaziland and Maputo.
- Ensure accurate dispatch of stock by dolly count, ownership transfer and sign off on LCS.
- Ensure maximum utilisation of space by ship pallet combine and publish Long Life balance report to ISC Ops.
- Ensure the accuracy and dissemination of the Advice Note by aligning with the Midrand Help Desk.
- Investigate any issues with double checker and communicate any balances to Midrand Ops and ISC.
- Keep updated on all banned products and ensure that banned stock is removed and re-picked.
- Communicate all DC incidents to Midrand Ops and ISC.
- Attend to queries and complaints – Help Desk.
- Adhere to Corporate Governance principles.
- Establish effective relationships with customers and Midrand DC, using Invocom methodology.
- Arranging of all inspection and collection of documents, samples as per legislative requirements (State Vets from Dept of Agriculture, PPECB).
- Providing input and executing the business unit’s 1 year operating plan, budget and scorecard with continuous improvement in mind.
- Building, integrating and maintaining relationships with all stakeholders in line with SLA’s to achieve operational excellence e.g. Transport, Trunking, Cross-Docking and Equipment Centre.
- Manage and adhere to company policies and procedures in line with corporate governance principles.
- Ensure timeous delivery of accurate reporting and administration for transactional excellence.
- Build, develop and entrench a high performance culture by providing leadership, feedback, guidance, support and coaching to staff.
- Demonstrate effective leadership aligned to the Woolworths DNA to ensure the delivery of the operational scorecard (i.e. Code of Conduct).

Minimum requirements
KEY COMPETENCIES
Systems, processes & Technical competencies:
- Knowledge & process understanding of logistics & related distribution processes.
- Working knowledge of supply chain operations and impact on stakeholders.
- Able to communicate effectively regarding matters of Permits certification to members of different export related government bodies.
- PC literate and able to capture information and produce reports based on the Warehouse Management System, and communicates effectively through email.
- Ability to manage consumables and assets.
- Have an understanding of process compliance.
Finance and or Business:
- Ability to analyse and interpret financial and performance indicators at a detailed level.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the business measures and targets relating to own role.
- Understand financial and performance indicators and is able to act according to agreed targets.
Health & Safety:
- Have an understanding of relevant legislation.
- Ability to work across different temperature regimes e.g. Cold Chain and Frozens area.
Customer & Environment:
- Ability to develop a knowledge and understanding of the suppliers’, customer and service provider business fairly quickly and demonstrates a passion for customer delivery.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the impact of own role on service delivery to internal and external customers.
- Customer Service mind-set.
People:
- Have an understanding of relevant legislation.
- Knowledge of Performance Management Systems.
- Knowledge of Employee Relations procedures.
- Proven people skills e.g. facilitation, conflict, change management, performance management and employee relations management.
- Able to manage a diverse workforce.

- Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail.
- Able to adapt working hours according to business needs / flexible timing.

OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS
What theoretical knowledge (e.g. degree / diploma) does the job require?
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Relevant management or supervisory training.
- Three year Logistics/Commerce diploma advantageous or NQF level equivalent.
- Quality assurance background advantageous e.g. Six Sigma
What experience (e.g. previous exposure) does the job require?
- 3 Years’ relevant Supply Chain working experience in a supervisory/managerial function advantageous.
- Experience in Retail/FMCG environment advantageous.
