Duties & Responsibilities
The purpose of this role is to reconcile the financial performance of the SPAR Group Information System’s (SGIS) portfolio by recording, analysing and interpreting accounting records in order to contribute to accurate financial reporting for the SPAR Group Ltd.
- Reviewing all IT cost centers for completeness and accuracy
- Reviewing general ledger reports on a weekly basis, querying discrepancies with IT managers and making corrections
- Capturing relevant data and raising/ processing accruals and journals in SAP
- Allocating expenses/cash to general ledger/ cost center code to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Consolidating, preparing and updating cashflow requirements bi-monthly
- Implementing processes for foreign payments – requesting FX rates and compiling schedule for Accounts Payable/ Cash Forecasting teams
- Reconciling balance sheet accounts/WIP etc.
- Preparation of monthly accounts and consolidation of commentary from ITÂ managers
- Review for accuracy and completeness of divisional pack submissions
- Roll-forward of monthly packs and budget status feedback to IT managers
- Produce and distribute reports various ad hoc reports as required
- Set up of divisional forecast and budget packs, and consolidation of IT managers’ forecasts and budgets
- Testing of management and budget book packs when changes are required
- Consolidation and final review of DC recoveries received from IT managers and querying discrepancies
- Calculation of shared costs in line with shared costing model
- Participate in internal and external audits
- Any other ad hoc duties as required by management

Desired Experience & Qualification
- Matric
- A degree or diploma with a specialisation in Accounting
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a bookkeeping or a similar position
- Retail industry experience is preferred
- Proficient in all related computer applications including SAP, MS Office (intermediate level), etc.
